Requirements
- Obsidian v1.8.10 or higher
- A Raindrop.io account
- A Raindrop.io API token
Installing the Plugin
Manual Installation
- Download the latest release from the GitHub releases page
- Extract the downloaded ZIP file
- Move the extracted folder to your Obsidian vault’s plugins folder:
- On Windows/macOS:
[Your Vault]/.obsidian/plugins/
- On Linux:
[Your Vault]/.obsidian/plugins/
- On Windows/macOS:
- Restart Obsidian
- Go to Settings → Community plugins
- Enable the “Make It Rain” plugin
Getting a Raindrop.io API Token
To use the plugin, you need to generate an API token from Raindrop.io:
- Log in to your Raindrop.io account
- Go to your Integrations settings page
- Under “For Developers”, click Create new app
- Give your app a name (e.g., “MakeItRain”)
- Copy the Test Token that appears
- In Obsidian, go to Settings → Make It Rain
- Paste the token in the Raindrop.io API Token field
- Click the Verify Token button to confirm it works
